A program of Queens College, Project ExCEL is a part of the CUNY Black Male Initiative. This initiative provides African American and other underrepresented populations, as well as all interested students, with services and support that contribute to their academic and professional success in college.

The goal of Project ExCEL is to assist the college in maintaining a consistent multicultural enrollment with a focus on retention and graduation. Through mentoring, academic/professional development workshops and grants, participants receive support and encouragement throughout their undergraduate careers.
