Project Excel

Project ExCEL is a part of the CUNY Black Male Initiative (BMI).  This is a University-wide initiative that provides African- American and Latino Males – with services and support that contribute to academic and professional success in college.  Through mentoring, academic and professional development workshops, participants are provided with a variety of opportunities to foster success.

The goal of Project ExCEL is to assist the college in maintaining a consistent multicultural enrollment with a focus on retention and graduation.  The program strives to increase, encourage, and support the inclusion and educational success of underrepresented groups and all interested students, especially African-American and Latino males.

The Black Male Initiative (BMI) program and activities are open to academically eligible students without regard for race, gender, national origin or other characteristics.
