​Queens College is an engine of social mobility, a public institution serving New York City’s highly diverse and global population.  Our 19,000 students realize their potential through our undergraduate and graduate degrees, honors programs, and experiential learning opportunities.  Queens College, Division of Enrollment and Student Retention, is seeking a full-time Program Manager for its Academic College Now Program. Reporting directly to the Assistant Vice-President for Enrollment and Student Retention, the College Now Manager will be responsible for overseeing all program activities on the Queens College campus for New York City public high school students and teachers.
     The Academic College Now Program is a collaborative initiative of the City University of New York (CUNY) and the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) to foster the active involvement of every college in the University in the promotion and support of higher standards of academic achievement for all NYC public high school students. The goal of the program is to ensure that all students meet and/or exceed the performance standards required for high school graduation and that all those who wish to pursue postsecondary study are prepared to do so successfully.

•    Oversee all aspects of the College Now Program, including college credit, pre-college, summer programs, and all special College Now initiatives;
•    Design, implement, and supervise College Now recruitment activities, student admission, orientation, and support activities;
•    Develop new and strengthen existing College Now partnerships between NYC public high schools and Queens College;
•    Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with the academic divisions, department chairs, faculty members, and College administration;
•    Write annual program plans, final reports, mid-year and final budget reports;
•    Develop and monitor annual budgets for the College Now Program and the STEM Research Academy;
•    Manage full- and part-time members of the College Now staff;
•    Oversee the CUNY Explorers Program at Queens College.


Manages campus College Now program operations under the direction of a senior administrator.  College Now is collaborative program of the City University of New York (CUNY)/Office of Academic Affairs and the New York City Department of Education designed to prepare New York City's public high school students for college. 

- Delivers and monitors comprehensive college preparatory program including academic courses (both for high school and college credit); campus-based tours and cultural events; and exclusive scholarship offerings 

- Evaluates programming outcomes and makes recommendations to improve offerings 

- Oversees program's budget and daily administration 

- Prepares reports for management; may write grant proposals 

- Liaisons with course coordinators, college and high school faculty, and various administrators in the implementation of professional development activities 

- May manage professional and/or clerical staff 

- Performs related duties as assigned. 


​Bachelor's Degree and six years' relevant experience required.


​- Master’s Degree preferred - Prior experience in evaluating high school applicants’ college readiness, training and supervising mentors and other staff. Experience in program development and implementation and reporting to funder, developing budgets, developing and maintaining effective relationships with high school and college faculty and administration preferred.
- Excellent computer, oral, and written communications skills
