Winter Session Financial Aid is Very Limited
Financial Aid is expected to be even more limited for Winter 2012/2013 than in previous winter sessions.
At the moment, the following is how Winter 2012/2013 financial aid is expected to work for all CUNY campuses:
>>> Pell grant is still the only possible aid program for students that considers their Winter registration. Students must meet all the standard Pell eligibility criteria PLUS additional criteria for Winter.
>>> Winter session enrollment is considered part of a student's Spring Pell award, with some restrictions.
- Pell grants will only include Winter registration for students who are registered and stay enrolled at an eligible Pell status at the same CUNY college for BOTH Winter and Regular Spring, and who have Pell remaining
- there will be no increase in a student's Pell Grant to reflect Winter registration if the student is already full time for regular Spring - full time students are already receiving the maximum Pell payment for Spring.
>>> For eligible students, Spring Pell
- will be automatically calculated including Winter registration as part of the Spring Pell grant when it is appropriate
- will not have a separate Winter payment --- payment will be made as part of the regular Spring semester during the regular Spring semester.
