Can I get Financial Aid for Study Abroad?

It depends… See below.

 

**IMPORTANT:

Receiving Financial Aid depends on each student’s package, so you must speak with Financial Aid for specific information regarding if you can get Financial Aid for studying abroad.

Queens College Short-Term Programs: Summer/Winter

WINTER PROGRAMS:

In general, no.

 

But, sometimes money can be taken out of your Spring package and applied to winter tuition.  Speak with the Financial Aid Office regarding this.

 

SUMMER PROGRAMS:

Yes, depending on your package, tuition may be covered if you take at least 6 credits that summer (that could be one Study Abroad class and one Queens College regular summer class on campus).

 

Queens College Long-Term Programs: Semester/Year

EXCHANGE PROGRAMS

Yes, in general, tuition may be covered, depending on your package.  Sometimes, TAP is not guaranteed.  For exchange programs, students pay CUNY tuition, so it is as if you are still at Queens College.

 

You must submit a Course Approval Form to the Financial Aid Office.  Detailed instructions on Course Approval Forms can be found here.

 

 

NON-EXCHANGE PROGRAMS

Please speak with Financial Aid.

CUNY-Paris Exchange

Yes, in general, tuition may be covered, depending on your package.  Sometimes, TAP is not guaranteed.  For exchange programs, students pay CUNY tuition, so it is as if you are still at CUNY.
