Karen Weingarten writes about cultural histories of reproduction and reproductive technologies. Most recently she edited the collection Abortion Stories: American Literature Before Roe v. Wade (Penguin Classics 2025). Other publications include Pregnancy Test (Bloomsbury 2023) and Abortion in the American Imagination: Before Life and Choice, 1880-1940 (Rutgers UP, 2014).

Carol Giardina is Associate Professor of History, specializing in contemporary US history and women’s history. She earned her PhD at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and is the author of Freedom For Women: Forging the Women’s Liberation Movement, 1953-1970 (University Press of Florida, 2010) as well as other articles on the Second Wave of Feminism in the US She is presently working on a biography of Second Wave founder Judith Brown and a history of the feminist movement in Florida. She teaches Women’s Studies, Contemporary US History, and US Labor History.

Amy Herzog

Amy Herzog is a media historian whose research spans a broad range of interdisciplinary subjects, including film, philosophy, popular music, urban history, pornography, gentrification, parasites, amusement parks, and dioramas. She is Associate Professor of Media Studies at Queens College and Coordinator of the Film Studies Program at the CUNY Graduate Center. She has also taught as Visiting Associate Professor at the Lewis Center for the Arts at Princeton University.

Dr. Nikulina is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology. She studies gender-based violence in young adult relationships. She is also interested in the experiences of sexual assault survivors, particularly their post-assault disclosure processes.
