  2. How to prepare for an appointment
    1. When booking an appointment, you will have the option to write a short description about what you would like to discuss during the appointment. You can also optionally upload your coursework in pdf format to work together with your tutor.
  3. What we the tutors can and cannot do over the course of an appointment
    1. Tutors cannot help you with exams or graded work, etc…
    2. We encourage you to attempt your homework assignment before coming to tutoring. Make a note of the concepts with which you are struggling with. You and your tutor can then review these concepts and work through similar problems. The tutor cannot help you do your homework.
  4. Scheduling Policies
    1. Holiday Policy:
      When the classes are not in session, the QC Learning Commons will be closed for tutoring and other services.
    2. Conversion Days:
      When the college has a conversion day, such as a “Friday following a Monday schedule”, the QC Learning Commons will follow the college’s schedule.
    3. No-show Policy:
      if a student does not show up after 10 minutes for a scheduled appointment, the appointment will be marked as a no-show, and the time given to another student.
    4. Students who schedule the same tutor more than once in a day may have later appointments that day canceled to allow other students time to schedule an appointment

  1. How do I get a job at the LC?
    • To apply, fill out the following form to provide:
      • Cover letter
      • Resume
      • Transcript
      • Contact information for a QC faculty or staff reference
    • Send the above information and your CUNY ID (EMPLI#) from your student qmail to LCommons@qc.cuny.edu
  2. Does the Learning Commons take walk-ins?
    • Yes, feel free to walk into Kiely Hall, Room 131 or Kiely Hall, Room 144 when the LC is open.

  3. Where is my online tutoring appointment?
    • Online Tutoring appointments will take place via the following zoom:

  4. Who is eligible for free tutoring at the Learning Commons?
    • Any student enrolled in at least in a Queens College course is eligible for free tutoring. This includes students on e-permit and auditing students.
  5. Do you offer tutoring on the weekends?
    • Unfortunately, the Learning Commons is not able to offer tutoring support on the weekends at this time.
  6. I don’t see my class listed for tutoring support, where can I get more information?
    • Please login and view our full list of courses here: WCONLINE. If your course is not listed, please review “Other Tutoring Around Campus” section on our website here. If you do not see your course or area listed, email LCommons@qc.cuny.edu to let us know which course you’re looking for support with.
