IMPORTANT NOTES:

-Official English Test Scores:

Minimum Scores: TOEFL iBT 61; IELTS 6; Pearson Academic 44; Duolingo 95

→ We also accept TOEFL MyBest Scores & TOEFL iBT Home Edition.

We will only be accepting digital scores. Please do not mail us a hard copy.

  • Not sending your scores with your other application documents will significantly delay your acceptance since they are needed in order to process your application.
  • We do not accept any other test scores (ex: Cambridge). If you have not taken one of the exams above, sign up for a test as soon as possible.

-CONSENT & RELEASE FORM: At our events, we take pictures and/or videos of our exchange students that are sometimes posted on Queens College social media accounts and/or on the Queens College website.  By signing this form, the students agree that they consent of the use of their photograph by Queens College, CUNY.

-COURSE OFFERINGS & RESTRICTIONS: There are some courses that are off-limits for our incoming exchange students. For more details on this, please consult the following PDF attached very carefully:“Incoming Exchange- Housing and Course Offerings”.

-DORMITORY (The Summit):

Students wishing to stay in our dorms, The Summit, should read the document entitled “Incoming Exchange- Housing and Course Offerings” very carefully.

If this student is a one-semester student, he/she should make the Summit aware of this before signing the contract!

  • The housing contact is automatically created for Fall 2025 & Spring 2026.  One-semester students must have the contract changed to Fall 2025 only before signing the document.

Students interested in staying in our dorms, should wait to hear back from the Summit before looking at different options (off-campus housing).

· Receiving a contract means that you have secured a room on campus.

· Yearlong students who sign a contract with the Summit for the Academic Year are bound to that contract and cannot switch to off-campus housing during their second semester in NY.

· If you no longer want on-campus housing, DO NOT sign the contract. Students who sign a contract with the Summit and then cancel are subject to a cancellation fee (at least $1,000).

-ARTS AND EVENTS Fee: $250 (Mandatory)This fee was increased due to inflation in NYC.

The Queens College Study Abroad Office brings students on cultural events & excursions within the 5 boroughs of New York City to Shows, Sports Games, Bowling, Central Park Tours, Lunches, Dinners, and more.  These events give the students a greater understanding of the American culture and allow them to step out of their comfort zones and make friends with local and international exchange students.

-HEALTH INSURANCE:

Exchange students are required to purchase health insurance. They can choose whichever international insurance they would like, as long as it meets the requirements in the document entitled “8. International Insurance Requirements.”

If students are unsure of which insurance to purchase, here is a Queens College recommendation: http://www.isoa.org/

· More information on this in the Step-by-Step Instructions, Insurance Requirements & Insurance Providers PDFs
