Described by Marco Polo as the most beautiful island in the world, Sri Lanka is in the Indian Ocean with a landscape of white beaches with blue waters, tropical rain forests with wildlife, and mountains with world-famous tea plantations. With 21 million people residing in a nation where English is widely spoken, Sri Lanka has a growing economy with a robust service sector accounting for 60% of its GDP. Sri Lanka is strategically situated to benefit from globalization -- equidistant between Europe and the Far East.

The program provides a unique opportunity to study and experience the implications of individual and business economic decisions on a local economy in a global marketplace and will prepare students to compete in an international society. Students will learn from a Queens College professor who is originally from Sri Lanka and an expert in the field.
