MEET THE DIRECTOR:
DR. ROSS WHEELER
Ross Wheeler earned his doctorate in English from SUNY
Binghamton in 1991. He has an MFA from
the University of Iowa and a BA in English from the University of Utah. He worked for 10 years as Associate Director
of the Honors Program at Long Island University before joining Queens College
in 2003 as Chief Administrator of Honors and Scholarships. As Chief Administrator, he developed the
Queens College Freshmen Honors Program and continues to oversee its
curriculum. He became director of the
Macaulay Honors College at Queens in 2008.
He is responsible for all administrative aspects of the program on
campus, from student recruitment and selection to faculty recruitment for MHC
courses; he serves also as the interface between Macaulay central and the
campus. He is additionally responsible
for the distribution to students of internal scholarship funds from the QC
Foundation.

MEET HONORS ADVISOR:
MS. GREENE-ALLEN
Wynter has been working with
Macaulay Honors College, CUNY since 2011. She was initially hired in the Office
of Academic Affairs within Macaulay's Central Office on Manhattan's W 67th
Street and has had the pleasure of advising Macaulay Scholars since 2013. A
graduate of Binghamton University (SUNY) and Baruch College (CUNY), Wynter is a
strong supporter of public education. She and her two sisters are all CUNY
Alums. Wynter brings a student-centered approach to advising and enjoys working
with students as they navigate emerging adulthood. She loves working with the
diverse student body at Queens College and meeting new students every
year. Interested in student recruitment and access to educational
opportunities, she frequently participates in outreach for prospective students
at Macaulay Honors College and
Queens College. Wynter enjoys eating spicy food and anything containing
lemons.

MEET HONORS ADVISOR:
MS. TANZMAN
Leora Tanzman is a Macaulay Honors Advisor at Queens College.
She has experience as an Executive Function Coach, teaching students
skills in areas that include stress management, time management, planning, and
prioritizing. Additionally, Leora worked as a School Psychologist for over five years.
She has a Master's degree in School Psychology with
a Specialization in Multicultural School Psychology from Queens
College. After graduating from Macaulay Honors College at Queens College, Leora
briefly pursued her passion for art at Fashion Institute of
Technology.
Leora continues to creatively express herself through
photography, drawing, and painting.
