Advising by Appointment​​​

Appointments are available during the fall and spring semesters for in-depth clarification and discussion on general education and degree requirements, educational planning and course selection, and other topics related to academic and professional development.​​

Please read prior to making an appointment: Appointments can be made only during the Fall and Spring semesters. During the summer and winter please refer to our walk-in hours. To make an appointment, you must be a current undergraduate student taking classes during the current semester, or a returning student who has already filed for re-entry. Incoming students must attend a Freshman or Transfer Advising Session before meeting with an advisor. You must show up on time for your scheduled appointment slot. Students cannot edit the available appointment slot. Students who show up more than 15 minutes late for a 1-hour appointment, or more than 10 minutes late for a 30-minute appointment, will have to reschedule.

To make an appointment using AdvisorTrac


1.    Navigate to AdvisorTrac -

      Appointments can also be made in person or via phone for regular and Skype advising sessions.

2.    Log in to AdvisorTrac using your CAMS Username and password.

3.    To schedule an appointment, click Search Availability under the Student Options

     menu on the left.

4.    From the drop down menu, change the Center to Academic Advising Center.

5.    If you wish to make an appointment with a specific advisor, look for the advisor’s name

     in the Consultant drop down menu, otherwise keep that field empty to search for the

     availability for any advisor.

6.    Modify the search options (e.g. dates, times, days, etc.). Keep in mind that the

     Academic Advising Center only offers appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays during

     the fall and spring semesters.

7.    Click Search.

9.    The available days and times for each advisor will be displayed to the right.

10.  Click on the time you would like your appointment. Please note that same day

      appointments can be made no later than 12:00PM the day of by calling 718-997


11.  In the Appointment Entry pop-up box, select your Reason (e.g. Graduation

      Projection, General Education Check, etc.) for the visit and your Academic Standing (e.g.

      Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior). Please also include a detailed description for the reason

      of your appointment.

12.  Click Save. The Appointment Entry pop-up box will disappear confirming that the

      appointment was successfully created.

13.  You will automatically return to the updated available appointments. A confirmation

      email with the details of the appointment will be sent to your preferred email in

      CUNYfirst and your Main Menu will reflect the upcoming appointment. ​ 

To cancel an appointment using AdvisorTrac

2.    Log in to AdvisorTrac using your CAMS Username and password.

3.    To cancel an appointment, click the X next to the appointment. Please cancel your

     appointment at least 48 hours in advance. This will allow someone else to choose that

     appointment slot.

4.  Enter your reason for cancelling the appointment and click the Confirm Cancellation


To access your individual "eadvising portfolio" in AdvisorTrac

1.    Navigate to AdvisorTrac -

2.    Log in to AdvisorTrac using your CAMS Username and password.

3.    Click Document Postings under the Student Options menu on the left.

4.     A list of your advising session notes and documents as of 12/13/17 will be saved into

     AdvisorTrac so you can conveniently go back and check all registration suggestions 

     and referrals made by your previous advisor(s).

You will receive an email invitation to sign up for Freshman or Transfer Advising Sessions, soon after you have been accepted and have informed the Undergraduate Admissions office of your intent to enroll at Queens College.
