During these challenging times, the Knightstable Food Pantry is open to all CUNY Students*

The Knights Table Food Pantry

In fall 2018, Queens College continued its commitment to address food insecurity among students by opening the Knights Table Food Pantry. Food insecurity affects individuals and families whose eating patterns are disrupted due to limited availability of fresh, healthy food items or a decline in the amount or variety of food. Food insecurity can be a significant yet solvable obstacle to academic success. The Knights Table Pantry provides matriculated QC students experiencing food insecurity with access to non-perishable food items for themselves and immediate family members.

If you know of students who may be experiencing food insecurity, please encourage them to email KnightsTable@qc.cuny.edu or call 718-997-0393 for quick access to the pantry.

If you would like to contribute to the Knights Table Food Pantry by donating nonperishable food items or volunteering your time, please contact us using the same email address or telephone number. Thank you!

Eligibility

Who is eligible?

Matriculated CUNY students enrolled in courses during the academic year are eligible to use the Knights Table Food Pantry.

What is available from the Knights Table Food Pantry?

The Knights Pantry provides free food and related items to students who face food insecurity and need assistance. The pantry offers supplemental support; we do not offer all of the food students need, but strive to support them as best we can. As additional support for eligible students, we also provide Green and QC Bucks.

If you need additional food, we can refer you to other New York State programs:

New York City Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

WIC: https://www.health.ny.gov/prevention/nutrition/wic/

Volunteers

How can I volunteer at the Knights Table Food Pantry?

Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm. If you are available after hours, we welcome your service as well. Volunteers are asked to complete an application. Volunteers will serve pantry clients, stock shelves, and help package food. All volunteers must be committed to set hours that are provided.

Email Knightstable@qc.cuny.edu with questions.
