Biographical Information:

Lindsay Campbell is a musicologist who specializes in 19th-century art song, particularly English language song, and its intersections with gender. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Musicology at The CUNY Graduate Center and teaches music history courses at both Queens College and Hunter College. In addition to her work as a musicologist, Campbell is a choral conductor and singer, with an MM in choral conducting and a BM in music education and vocal performance from Michigan State University. Before beginning her studies at The Graduate Center, she taught middle school and high school choir in the Michigan public schools. Always a performer at heart, Campbell incorporates performance into her research, seeking out rarely performed or unrecorded works to study, record, and share with the world.  In addition to annual In her own voice recitals at the Graduate Center, Campbell recorded Liza Lehmann’s Nonsense Songs with the Sometimes Singers quartet.
