Master of Music in Classical Performance
Master of Music in Classical Performance
Admission to the Master of Music in Classical Performance degree is by competitive audition. The degree program prepares students for a concert career, studio teaching, or DMA audition, training well-rounded, intelligent musicians and outstanding performers. The curriculum provides rigorous training in musical technique and interpretation; solo, ensemble and chamber performance; along with analysis and writing. Students receive private instruction in the major instrument or voice, working closely with a faculty mentor. Students participate in repertoire classes, performing ensembles and chamber groups, and complete academic classes in historical performance practice and other courses geared to the needs of classical performers.
The Master of Music in Classical Performance is open to students in standard orchestral instruments, keyboard, early-music instruments, classical guitar, and voice. We also offer performance master’s degrees in conducting and in jazz composition and performance.
Audition Registration Deadline:
The deadline is a week prior to the audition date based on the instrument. For example, if voice auditions are on February 25; the GetAcceptd application deadline will be February 18.
