Biographical Information:
Rudy Johnson is a music educator, conductor, and hornist from Long Island, NY. At Queens College, CUNY, he teaches Brass and Woodwind Methods. He also teaches General Music for grades 6–8 at Milton L. Olive Middle School in the Wyandanch School District.
Previously, he directed the Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Marching Band at Patchogue-Medford High School, where his ensembles earned multiple Gold with Distinction awards at NYSSMA Level VI.
An active hornist, Johnson has performed with the South Shore Symphony, North Shore Symphony, Brooklyn Symphony, Atlantic Wind Symphony, and Long Island Wind Ensemble. He has also maintained a small private horn studio, where his students have successfully performed NYSSMA Level I–VI solos, earned All-State recognition, and gained admission to collegiate music programs.
He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia and a Master of Science in Music Education from Queens College, CUNY.
