Biographical Information:
Vlad Praskurnin is a third-year Ph.D. student at the CUNY Graduate Center. His research interests center on form and historically informed analysis of music of the 16th to 18th centuries. He has presented papers on Orlando di Lasso’s quotation techniques, J.S. Bach’s ritornello form, and Beethoven’s use of the Romanesca, and is currently studying Francesco Cavalli’s harmonic language.
Vlad has been teaching at Queens College as a Graduate Teaching Fellow since 2024. He has previously served as a teaching assistant at McGill University, where he obtained M.A. and B.Mus. degrees in Music Theory.
