Title: Music and Culture in Bali
Course: 3 credits MUS 8 (undergrad)/MUS 713 (grad) *THIS COURSE IS OPEN TO BOTH UNDERGRAD AND GRAD STUDENTS*

Housing: Double rooms in hotel
Syllabus and Tentative Schedule
This course will provide an immersive musical experience to both CUNY undergraduate students and Queens College graduate students. We will rehearse as a gamelan on traditional instruments, study privately with local masters, and tour sacred landmarks and temples throughout Bali. Musical experience is not necessary for enrollment. In person classes, lectures, daily writing assignments and journaling will also be required.

– Programs are open to undergraduate students only from all CUNY campuses with one semester completed* (*Bali is open to QC grad students)
– Minimum 2.5 GPA required and no financial/academic holds
– Some programs may require travel on Fridays and weekends
– Students receive both credit and grade
