“What a wonderful opportunity it is for Queens College to share student experiences and academic and campus offerings with a worldwide audience through its ‘College Tour’ episode,” said Queens College President Frank H. Wu. “We often say that Queens is ‘the World’s Borough’ because of its rich diversity, much of which is reflected on our campus where students speak more than 90 languages and dialects. We hope that this episode will inspire prospective students seeking a combination of high academic standards, affordability, career readiness opportunities, and a welcoming and inclusive environment to pursue higher education on our campus.”
The college hosted a special premiere in September for the students featured in the episode, their families, and special guests, including Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr., who commented, “Queens College has long been a pillar of opportunity in our borough and in this nation…it’s a proven engine of social mobility. Queens College…is consistently ranked among the best colleges in America. Students graduate with one of the lowest debt levels in this country while receiving a world-class education, and that’s the definition of hope and opportunity. I’m honored to stand here today to celebrate this institution, a shining example of what public higher education can and should be—accessible, inclusive, and committed to the public good.”
