The Speech-Language-Hearing Center

The Queens College Speech-Language-Hearing Center is in a one-story building in an accessible and conveniently located part of the Queens College campus. The Center houses the graduate program in Speech-Language Pathology, the Speech-Language-Hearing Center, and offices for most of the program’s faculty. The Center also serves as a laboratory for undergraduate students in communication sciences and disorders and faculty doing applied clinical research.
The Speech-Language-Hearing Center serves a varied population of children and adults with communication disorders. Services are available Monday – Friday until 7 pm All clients are assigned to ASHA and NYS clinically certified faculty who provide direct assessment and treatment services along with one-to-one clinical mentorship for assigned students. Whom and What Do We Treat?

Specialty Clinical Program
The Queens College Speech Language and Hearing Center (QCSLHC) is pleased to offer a new speech therapy program designed to help individuals with Parkinson’s Disease maintain effective communication. The SPEAK OUT!® program places emphasis on speaking with intent. Upon completion, clients will join the LOUD Crowd® program, a weekly group session led by certified speech language pathologists designed to provide client support and maintain their newly acquired communication strategies. Where Are We?
The center is conveniently located in the Gertz
Building on the Queens College campus (6530
Kissena Boulevard, Flushing) just off Exit 24 of
the Long Island Expressway. It is also accessible
by subway and municipal buses.
What Services Do We Provide?
Evaluations and treatment are provided by the
nationally recognized Queens College faculty,all
of whom are clinically certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and licensed to practice speech-language pathology
by the New York State Department of Education.
Treatment sessions are scheduled for 45 minutes
two times a week or more. Parent and family
support is integral to the program. The center
follows an academic calendar.
What Does It Cost?
The center's fees are significantly less than those
charged by private practitioners. We will
be pleased to assist you in completing the necessary
forms for reimbursement from your insurer. The
center also has scholarship funds for persons who
may have financial difficulty. Some of these funds are made available by grants from the New York Community Trust and the Ridenour Endowment Fund.
