The Second Annual TIME 2000 Conference: Celebrating Mathematics Teaching
Third Annual Conference: Celebrating Mathematics Teaching
On Friday, 24 October 2003, TIME 2000 hosted its second annual conference, CELEBRATING MATHEMATICS TEACHING. Bradley Fields, world renowned mathemagician, shared the "magic" of mathematics, and entertained 100 excellent high school students and their teachers who represented 16 local high schools. Fourteen professors and 76 college students from Queens College and Queensborough Community College also participated. Local and nationally -acclaimed dynamic mathematics teachers made exciting presentations that involved the conference participants in mathematical investigations and explorations. More than sixty TIME 2000 students volunteered to prepare for and assist at the conference. Several TIME 2000 graduates returned to be on the program and to participate with the undergraduates in a panel discussion conducted by senior, Sara Liu. The Simons Foundation is gratefully acknowledged for funding the conference.
