Director
​Zavi has over 20 years experience in teaching, developing innovative programs and career coaching/counseling. She is very passionate about educating, engaging and empowering Queens College students towards career success and social mobility. Zavi enjoys going to Bounce U and bowling with her two children.​​

​Elizabeth O'Connell
​Associate Director of Career Education
​Liz has over 25 years of experience in education, business, and human resources. She enjoys connecting with students and guiding them through their career education experience at Queens College. Seeing the success of her students and building valuable relationships with employers and alumni are also an important part of her role. In her spare time she enjoys running, boating, and traveling with her friends and family.

Associate Director of Alumni & Employer Engagement
​​Diane has over 30 years experience having spent 25+ years working in Human Resources for various financial service organizations-- in her most recent venture, she ran Campus Recruiting for Investment Banking and Capital Markets at Bank of America. Diane joined QC five years ago as a Career Coach in Economics, Finance and Business. Diane is an alum of QC (undergrad) and Baruch (Grad). Diane loves to read, travel to different countries and go to the beach. Diane also teaches one of the World of Work classes offered here by the center

Dr. Keesha Cameron
Dr. Keesha Cameron
​​Associate Director of Career Education and Internships
Keesha Cameron has 25 years of experience in higher education administration, teaching, program development, professional development and counseling.  Her education and training have been focused on the areas of industrial organizational psychology, human development and clinical psychology.  Her research interests include racial socialization and other developmental processes, resilience, achievement, motivation and performance enhancement. Her life’s work continues to be to understand and implement data-driven and efficacious strategies to assist others to flourish personally and professionally. In her down time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters as well as reading, traveling and finding new adventures.​

Career Educator and Specialist
​​Karen has over 10 years of experience in creating and facilitating leadership development and career engagement programs. She has a passion for working in an advising, counseling, and mentoring capacity with diverse populations. She lives a life of use to others.  She is happy to bring to Queens College her significant understanding of the many facets of student development and its impact on student success.
Kristina Aranbayeva
​Kristina Aranbayeva
​CUNY LEADS Support Specialist
​​Kristina has over 13 years of experience in Mental Health Counseling and Career Counseling. She is also a Disabilities Rights Advocate. Kristina is also a published author. She published her first book of poetry, “Words As Weapons”, in November 2017. Her favorite book and movie is ‘Gone With the Wind’. In her spare time she enjoys writing, reading and listening to music.
David Engel

​Alumni and Employer Engagement Specialist
​David has a strong interest in relationship building and personal and professional development cultivated through undergraduate studies in industrial and organizational psychology, reading human development books and experiences in sales, human resources, real estate and counseling. He has worked for NASA, Keller Williams NYC, and Nature Publishing Group, and has also completed an Olympic Triathlon. His favorite movie is Mission Impossible. David’s hobbies include reading personal and professional development books, exercising and attending networking events.
Linda Mitchell

​Business & Internship Specialist
Linda is a career strategist experienced in successfully assisting entry-level workers, career changers, and working professionals with leveraging and leveling up their careers. Founder of SHE INK Magazine, she was the recipient of the Brooklyn Caribbean Chamber of Commerce Trail Blazer Award for launching the first woman’s business and career magazine in NYS owned by an African American woman. Working in higher education for nearly thirty years, Linda has served on the faculty and staff at Fordham University, CUNY, SUNY and Mercy College. An alumna of St. John’s University, Mercy College, and SUNY College at Brockport, she also attended Teacher’s College Columbia University. Currently pursuing a PhD in Organizational Leadership at Regent University, School of Business and Leadership Linda loves to power shop and watch fashion influencers on YouTube. Her favorite author is Zora Neal Hurston.

​​Cathy enjoys taking long walks and reading novels in her spare time. Cathy also speaks fluent Italian and lived in Italy for many years. She loves to try different cuisines from different cultures all over the world. Cathy’s favorite movie is My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

​Tech Assistant & Customer Service Engagement
​​Dan is originally from Hong Kong, China. He enjoys his trips back to China to visit his family and friends and have some good authentic Chinese cuisine. Dan’s favorite movie is Casablanca. His hobbies are listening to music, watching movies and reading literature.

​Career Support Specialist
​​Tai was born in South Korea and raised in Flushing for most of his life. He is pursuing his Master’s in Mental Health Counseling here at Queens College. Tai enjoys running, watching Hulu and hanging out with his friends on the weekends. His favorite movie is District 9.
Sohia Matuszewicz
​Sohia Matuszewicz
​Career Peer for Communication and Customer Engagement
​​Sophia was raised in Denver and is currently pursuing her master's degree in Media Studies at Queens College, focusing on intersections o​​f communication and social change. In her free time she enjoys immersing herself in pop culture and podcasts, and expanding her gastronomic horizons.

MISSION
Students’ career education is fully-integrated in their acad​emic, personal, experiential, co-curricular and employment activities. Career Center staff are educators, connectors and collaborators through the engagement of students, alumni, faculty, staff, employers and the community.  The Center will implement quality and innovative services.

 

ACADEMIC COURSE

CO-OP 201, World of Work, offers students career preparation skills with opportunities for self-reflection, career exploration, professional development, exploring employment and resources.​
