Location: Berlin, Germany

  • Session 1 NY Departure and Return Dates:   June 2 – July 15, 2023

          Arrive in Berlin in the morning of June 3rd

  • Session 2 NY Departure and Return Dates:   July 21 – August 19, 2023

           Arrive in Berlin in the morning of July 22nd

Courses: Students must enroll in one of the options below.

Visit and explore the capital of Germany, a European center of science, politics, culture, and the arts. One of the most affordable capitals within Europe, Berlin’s many attractions draw in students and visitors from around the world. Our host, Freie universitat offers German language courses at all proficiency levels, and subject courses in English on European topics.

Session 1: German Language ONLY (6 credits total) OR German Language + Subject Course (12 credits)

Summer 2023 Program Costs (Paid to Study Abroad Office)

  • Session 1, Option 1: $1730
  • Session 1, Option 2: $1900
  • Session 2, Option 1: $1490
  • Session 2, Option 2: $1670

(Program cost includes housing in single room in shared dormitories, differential tuition, excursions, QC program fee and international insurance)

**Not included in the above cost:

-CUNY tuition​ for in-state, matriculated undergraduates:

  • Session 1, Option 1: $1830 (6 credits)
  • Session 1, Option 2: $3660 (12 credits)
  • Session 2, Option 1: $1220 (4 credits)
  • Session 2, Option 2: $2440 (8 credits)

-Airfare: $1000 – $1300 (estimate)
-Minimum budget for meals and personal expenses: $25 to $30 per day
-Host family housing: $450 extra

Please keep in mind

– Programs are open to all undergraduate students from all CUNY campuses (unless restricted by level of study, language fluency, or other program criteria)

– Some programs may require travel on Fridays and some Saturdays

– Students are encouraged to apply early
