Loans

Queens College works with our students who are in need of educational loans as a part of a financial assistance program.

Federal Perkins Loan Program

The Federal Perkins Loan Program provides low-interest loans to help students in need to finance the costs of postsecondary education at Queens College.

Federal Direct Loan Program

The William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program consists of four separate programs that provide federally insured, low-interest, long-term loans to you or your parents to help you cover the costs of attending college. The Office of Financial Aid Services uses email as our official method of communication.  In order to assure that you receive all communications related to your application, please make sure the e-mail address that you provided on your application is correct.  Please add Queens College to your address book to avoid e-mails from financialaid@qc.cuny.edu being sent to spam folders.​

  • 2019-2020 - Important Dates & Deadlines
    • September 16, 2019 is the last day to declare a major for TAP/APTS eligibility for Fall 2019.
    • The last day to add courses is September 2, 2019. Your registration as of September 2nd will be used to determine your maximum financial aid eligibility for the semester (grants, loans and work-study).​
    • For information and how to apply for the Senator Jose Peralta NYS Dream Act - please click here​
    • The Excelsior Scholarship is now available, you may click here to apply. The application deadline will be Thursday, August 15, 2019

 

  • Spring 2019 - Important Dates & Deadlines
    • The last day to apply for a direct loan for 2018-2019 is Tuesday, April 30th.
    • The Excelsior Scholarship application for the Spring 2019 semester was Monday, January 14th.  If you first received the award in the fall term of the current academic year, no additional action is needed for the spring term.  ​​
    • The last day to add courses was Thursday, January 31, 2019. Your registration as of January 31st will be used to determine your maximum financial aid eligibility for the semester (grants, loans and work-study).​​
    • February 14, 2019 was the last day to declare a major for TAP/APTS eligibility for Spring 2019.
    • The last day to apply for APTS (Aid for Part-time Studies) was Monday, February 18, 2019.  You must have submitted your TAP application for 2018-2019 and filled out the supplement form on your Student Service Center in CUNYfirst.
