License Pre-Certification Course

The real estate market is growing in New York State, especially within the borough of Queens—which is booming with ownership, rental, and commercial possibilities. Our 78-hour Real Estate Salesperson’s Licensing Pre-Certification Course* is fully approved by New York State and is taught by a state-approved and -licensed real estate instructor. Upon completion of this required, pre-licensing course and passing New York State’s three-hour prequalifying certification examination, you will receive a program certificate from Queens College Professional and Continuing Studies.

Current topics of study include property management, contractual obligations regarding sales and leases, financing of real estate, law of agency, environmental and construction issues in real estate sales, process of valuation and pricing of properties, and the sale of condominiums and cooperative apartments in New York State.

*Last 3 hours of 78-hour course represent the prequalifying examination.

New York State requirements:
• Complete RE100, our 75-hour salesperson-qualifying course in real estate, which is approved by the secretary of New York State.
• Pass a qualifying examination administered by New York’s Department of State.
• Obtain sponsorship by a New York State-licensed real estate broker.
