Queens College Learning Commons

  • The Learning Commons offers academic support services for students enrolled at Queens College.

  • Through a combination of peer learning support, tutoring, and direction, the Learning Commons helps students navigate academic challenges guides them in becoming active and independent learners, and supports them in gaining positive study skills.

  • The Learning Commons employs Queens College undergraduate and graduate students who are carefully selected, trained, and supervised by Queens College staff and affiliated faculty.

  • All tutoring occurs via Google Meet and Google Documents. These services are accessible by activating your Queens College Google Education Suite Account. For information about activating your account, click here.

  • NOTE: The Queens College Learning Commons cannot support students who use their personal Google accounts.

STEM Support Center

  • In collaboration with the HSI-STEM Peer Mentors Program, the STEM Support Center, located online, offers support in a variety of STEM courses (BIO, CHEM, CSCI, MATH, ENSCI, GEOL, and PHYS).
Mathematics Tutoring

  • The mathematics lab, located on campus in Kiely 331, features both tutoring and videotape playback of past lectures when classes are in session.
  • The hours change each semester and are posted on the door of Kiely 331.

Computer Science Tutoring

  • Support for computer science courses can be found on campus in the Science Building, Room A135-A, Monday – Friday from 9 am – 7 pm.
Psychology 1073/1071 Peer Tutoring
  • Support for Psychology 107 courses can be found on campus in the Science Building, Room E322 from Monday-Friday (hours vary).

  • Please note that the current schedule is suspended. The department is working on a new way of advising students for the Spring 2020 semester. You can email qcpsy107tutors@gmail.com for a tutor. Please be extremely patient in awaiting a response.

Psychology 213W Peer Tutoring
  • Support for Psychology 213W courses can be found on campus in the Science Building, Room A338 from Monday-Friday (hours vary).

SEEK Learning Center

  • The SEEK Learning Center is located in Delany Hall, Room 112 from Monday-Friday (hours vary).

  • The SEEK Learning Center (SLC) offers students the opportunity of free individual and small group tutoring for all undergraduate level college courses.

  • SLC Tutors go through rigorous training and periodic individual assessments to ensure that they are offering tutees the best possible academic support.

  • Students who visit the SLC will have access to: trained and competent tutors, academically enriching workshops, and a place to study.
