Verification of Enrollment (VOE) Rosters

Each semester, Queens College faculty and instructors are required to complete and submit Verification of Enrollment (VOE) rosters through CUNYfirst.

Faculty will receive a notification when VOE rosters become available. Rosters should be completed and submitted by the deadline listed on the Queens College Academic Calendar.

The VOE roster confirms whether students enrolled in each course have begun attendance or participated in an academically related activity.

What Counts as Participation?

A student is considered to have begun attendance if they attend at least one class or actively participate in the course or an academically related activity.

Examples include:

  • Attending class
  • Submitting an academic assignment
  • Taking an exam or quiz
  • Participating in an assigned study group
  • Participating in an academic discussion
  • Completing an online academically related activity
  • Contacting the instructor with a course-related academic question

Important: Simply logging into an online class is not sufficient, by itself, to demonstrate participation.

How to Submit Your VOE Roster

  1. Log in to CUNYfirst.
  2. Go to Faculty Center.
  3. Select VOE Roster.
  4. Select the appropriate term and course.
  5. Review the students listed on the roster.
  6. Select Yes for students who have attended or participated.
  7. Select No for students who have never attended or participated.
  8. Review your responses and submit the completed roster.

Once submitted, the roster will be recorded as completed in CUNYfirst.

Important

Accurate and timely VOE reporting is required so the College can document student attendance or participation in each course used to determine eligibility for federal Title IV financial aid.

Students reported as having never attended or participated in an academically related activity may be processed for an administrative withdrawal (WN).
