Move-In Information
Welcome to The Summit Apartments at Queens College!
Whether you’re a new or returning student, we’re excited to welcome you home. This page provides all the key information and resources you need to prepare for a smooth and successful move-in experience.

Move-in Time Slot Selection: You will receive an email with instructions to select your move-in time slot via the Housing email. Please sign up for your move-in time by August 13, 2025. Confirmation of move-in appointment will be emailed starting August 15!

Room Assignment Notifications
You will be notified of your room assignment and roommate/suitemate information via email starting August 5th. This will include:
- Your apartment number
- Room designation (A, B, C, or D or A1, A2, B1, B2)
- Roommate/suitemate names (if applicable)
Please check your email regularly for updates.

Mail & Package Delivery
Mail and packages are delivered Monday thru Saturdays by 9:00pm. Once filed, mail is placed in each residents designated mailbox (located by lobby/elevator). Package deliveries have to be claimed in the Housing Office; residents will be contacted via email when their package are ready for pickup. Residents must bring a photo ID to the office. Please ensure that the RESIDENTS’ name is listed as the recipient of the package.

What NOT to Bring
We strongly advise against using generic “Back to College/School” shopping lists, as they often include prohibited items. Below is a partial list of items not allowed in The Summit. If you’re unsure about a specific item, please contact the Housing Office before arrival.
Fire hazards
- Halogen lamps, lamps with plastic shades
- Candles, incense, burning sage and any other items that are burned
- Any items with exposed heating element(s)
- Extension cords, multi-plug adapters, plug strips and extension cords lacking an on/off switch
Fireworks
Air conditioning units (all types)
Weapons
- This includes, but is not limited to, firearms, air pistols, paintball, BB guns, knives, swords and decorative weapons
Alcohol, drugs or drug paraphernalia (this includes “decorative” alcohol bottles and drug-related items)
Any pet other than fish kept in a 10-gallon tank or smaller

Check-In Process
When you arrive:
- Report to The Summit check-in table during your selected move-in time
- Present a photo ID
- Pick up your keys and check-in materials
- Complete your Room Condition Report (RCR) within 72 hours
