Asian American Heritage Celebration 2019
On Wednesday, May 1, 2019, the Asian/American Center (A/AC) of Queens College celebrated Asian American Heritage Month with students, faculty and community members. Asian/American Center’s 2019 Scholarship recipients were announced at this student-focused event. Recognition Awards were granted to Mr. David Ames and Mrs. Eugenia Ames, dedicated supporters of A/AC’s programs, and Professor Yunzhong Shu, Director of East Asian Studies at Queens College. Carl Takei, a senior staff attorney at the ACLU’s Trone Center for Justice and Equality delivered a speech on “Asian Americans, White Supremacy, and the Importance of Solidarity.”
The Asian/American Center (A/AC) is pleased to announce its 2019 award opportunities for Queens College students. A/AC currently grants two types of awards, the A/AC Student Scholarship and our new Student Leadership Award.
The deadline to submit a complete application is March 1, 2019.
