Mary Theresa Kiely, Ph.D., Associate Professor in Special Education in the Department of Educational and Community Programs.

Dr. Kiely supports teachers in developing knowledge and skills for instruction, assessment and intervention of students with disabilities with an emphasis on using current peer-reviewed research in special education and literacy. Her scholarship focuses on teacher cognition and learning in the areas of writing and literacy related to supporting students with disabilities in both general and special education settings in diverse schools. Dr. Kiely has taught classes in curriculum and instruction for students with disabilities in literacy and the content areas, assessment, foundations, research and practicum in both adolescent and elementary teacher education programs.
