Dr. Gershon earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Child and School Psychology from New York University. She is a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist with more than 20 years of clinical experience. Dr. Gershon serves as Director of Practicum and Internship for the Queens College School Psychology Program, where she oversees all aspects of students’ clinical training and fieldwork experiences. She teaches a range of undergraduate and graduate courses at Queens College, including Counseling and Play Therapy, Advanced Practicum in Counseling and Crisis Intervention, Human Development, Language and Literacy, and Tests and Measurement. Her research and professional interests focus on culturally responsive counseling and play therapy, as well as the implementation of social-emotional learning programs with preschool-aged children. She has presented at the annual conference of the National Association of School Psychologists on integrating positive psychology, mindfulness, therapeutic stories and storytelling, and creative arts-based approaches, including art and music therapy, into school-based counseling.
