Fang Luo

Fang Luo is a pianist and educator whose career spans more than three decades in China and the United States. Her professional training began at the Middle School affiliated with the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing and continued at Queens College and the Manhattan School of Music, where she earned her Master of Music degree. She is a recipient of the Anna Bernstein Memorial Award.

Ms. Luo has held faculty appointments at Shandong University, where she served as Professor of Piano, and at the China Conservatory of Music in Beijing, where she was Associate Professor of Piano from 2004 to 2014. Since 2011, she has been a member of the piano faculty at the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College, City University of New York, where she currently serves as Adjunct Associate Professor. She has also been on the faculty of the Summit Music Festival since 2008. Throughout her teaching career, Ms. Luo has mentored generations of pianists, many of whom have earned top honors in national and international competitions and appeared as soloists with orchestras.

As Co-Director of the International Music Performance Training Program at the Aaron Copland School of Music, Ms. Luo oversees advanced professional training for international musicians and educators. She is also a co-founder of the Goodway National Youth Piano Competition.

Ms. Luo has coordinated academic exchanges and institutional partnerships between music institutions in the United States and China. She has organized major international performances at the United Nations Headquarters, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall. She has presented master classes in the United States and China and has served as an adjudicator for piano competitions, professional examinations, and university auditions.
