Queens College Short-Term Programs: Summer/Winter

Eligibility Requirements:

-Minimum 2.5 GPA

-Must have completed at least one semester of Undergrad

-No financial holds on your record

-Must be in good academic standing

Open to all CUNY students and non-CUNY students who meet our eligibility requirements for our Winter/Summer programs.  

**IMPORTANT:  If your Summer/Winter abroad is your last semester of college, you will not be able to graduate until one semester later.  For example, if you study abroad in the summer, you will not be able to graduate until the Fall because it takes us a while to receive your transcript.  

Freshmen & Transfer Students: If this is your first semester at Queens College/CUNY, you are not eligible to study abroad yet since you need a GPA (this rule applies even if you transfer from a CUNY Community College).  

When will I be eligible?

-Fall Freshmen/Transfer Students: Beginning Summer of that Academic Year (Eligible for Summer & Fall Programs)

-Spring Freshmen/Transfer Students: Beginning winter on next Academic Year (Eligible for next year’s Winter & Spring Programs)  

EXCEPTION: Freshmen & Transfer students are eligible for Faculty-Led Winter/Summer Programs before they have a GPA.  

Queens College Long-Term Programs: Semester/Year

Eligibility Requirements:

-Minimum 2.5 – 3.0 GPA (depends on program)

-Must have completed at least one semester at Queens College

-No financial holds on your record

-Must be in good academic standing

-Some programs have language requirements (CUNY-Paris Exchange, CUNY-Italy Exchange, Spain: Universitat Pompeu Fabra Exchange) 

-Other CUNY students may be eligible for our exchange programs depending on the program and the number of spots available.  Some exchange programs are only open to Queens College Students.  

-Our Florence University of the Arts Semester Program is only open to Queens College students, but CUNY students can apply on their own through FUA’s website.

Eligibility Requirements:

1. Completion of at least one semester at CUNY 

2. Minimum 2.65 GPA

3. Completion of at least THREE college-level French classes (Beginner I, Beginner II, Intermediate I) or have the equivalent level**

   •Students who are currently enrolled in Intermediate French I are eligible to apply

HUNTER STUDENTS: 

All of the above + completion of FOUR college-level French classes** 

  • Students who are currently enrolled in Intermediate French II or the combination class (Intermediate French I & II) are eligible to apply.

**There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this requirement.

Before applying, you must reach out to your CUNY Campus’s Study Abroad Office to see if there is paperwork that you have to fill out with them.

All majors are encouraged to apply given that the Eligibility Requirements are met.

  3. Completion of at least four college-level Italian classes or the equivalent level.
  • Exception: Students enrolling in the Intensive Italian Language & Culture Program at the Università Per Stranieri.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Must be enrolled full-time at Queens College
  • Be in good standing (academic, financial, social/behavioral)
  • No incomplete grades
  • Meet any additional requirements of your home campus
  • Meet any additional GPA or academic requirements of your host campus
  • Must not be on probation, parole or have any pending legal judgements
  • First-semester transfer students are eligible.
