- Victoria Fernandez has been named the library’s first Social Justice and Civil Rights Archive Fellow, funded by the Freda S. and J. Chester Johnson Endowment. She is a Dual Master of History and Library Science (MLS/MA) degree candidate at the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies at Queens College, and was recently featured in the QView.
- Data Services Librarian Qiong (Joan) Xu recently published an article in The International Journal of Technology, Knowledge, and Society. Professor Xu’s article, “Validating and Developing the User Engagement Scale in Web-based Visual Information Searching,” is available for free download: https://doi.org/10.18848/1832-3669/CGP/v16i03/21-45.
- Emerging Technologies and Digital Scholarship Librarian Leila Walker recently published two articles on the nineteenth century British author Elizabeth Kent. “Sensitive Plants and Senseless Weeds: Plants, Consciousness, and Elizabeth Kent,” appears in Essays in Romanticism (https://doi.org/10.3828/eir.2020.27.2.3), and “Elizabeth Kent’s New Tales of Botanical Friendship,” in Studies in Romanticism (https://doi.org/10.1353/srm.2020.0018).
