New Digital Collection: Italian-language American Imprints
Thanks to generous funding from the Metropolitan New York Library Council (METRO), 295 public domain items from the James J. Periconi Collection of Italian-language American imprints are now available on JSTOR. Housed in the Rosenthal Library’s Special Collections and Archives, the collection offers insight into what Italian immigrants to the United States were reading, writing, and thinking about at the end of the 19th and first half of the 20th centuries, as they fled poverty, social turmoil, and natural disasters in their home country.
Queens College Special Collections and Archives (SCA) is the repository for over 4,000 linear feet of college records, special collections, and rare books.

Mission and Vision
Our mission is to collect, preserve, and provide access to special collections and archives for discovery, teaching, scholarship, creativity and critical thinking. Our priority is the safekeeping of the historical and cultural record of Queens College. Additional collecting areas – civil rights, social justice, politics, and music and the arts – reflect areas of excellence in our institution and among our faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
Our vision is to facilitate moments of discovery and connection with primary sources; provide experiential learning opportunities for future archivists; and collaboratively engage campus and community partners in the archival process.
We approach this work with a spirit of transparency, care, curiosity, inclusion, mindfulness, and respect.
Strategic Plans
Our strategic plan outlines specific goals in priority areas, while providing a vision and benchmarks for the next five years.
