Hispanic Heritage

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month and beyond, the Music Library is showcasing materials of different musical styles of Hispanic communities in Queens that are held here in the collection.
Per the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey estimates, 27.9% of Queens County’s population is Hispanic. The largest subgroup within this demographic, regardless of race, is Other Hispanic or Latino origin, with a population of 446,201 (68.64% of the total Hispanic population).
