Coronavirus Updates and Resources

The nationwide move to distance education necessitated by the coronavirus crisis has served to spotlight disparities that stratify the higher education landscape. In the days since Queens College re-opened classes under distance learning instruction, these matters of equity and access have already begun to surface on our campuses.

Motivated by these concerns, and in consultation with CUNY college presidents and deans, we have decided to institute a recalibration period beginning this Friday, March 27, through Wednesday April 1. Distance learning will resume on Thursday, April 2.

Students and faculty in need of technology assistance during this transition may contact the Student Support Hotline at 718-997-3000 or; and Faculty Support Hotline at 718-997-4900.

As of March 19, three members of the QC community have tested positive for the coronavirus.
Because these individuals were asymptomatic at the time during which they were on campus, the risk to our community is low. All offices visited by these individuals will undergo a deep cleaning. Read more in the Queens College Updates section below.

Remote library access is available using your QC ID. You may also email or use the real-time chat

Individuals needing to report their exposure to the virus may contact the coronavirus campus liaison. If you feel sick, please contact a healthcare provider. If you don't have a health care provider, please call 311. Hospital staff cannot ask you about your immigration status or deny you care based on your ability to pay.

We are preparing to accommodate affected students to the greatest reasonable extent through measures such as facilitating enrollment after the deadline, fast-tracking academic advising, permitting make-up exams, and extending due dates of final assignments.

Please check this page as well as your QC email daily for updates and further instructions. We encourage the entire campus community to review guidance from the Department of Health on How to Protect Yourself from COVID-19 and Stop the Spread of Germs (right).
