Faculty Liaisons

Following CUNY UIPS and Queens College goals, the Immigrant Student Support Initiative is looking to engage with Queens College faculty to provide support to the immigrant community on campus. This is not meant to add more work to your responsibilities; instead, it is meant to spread the important information we have access to.

Here is what this role would entail:

  • Attend bimonthly virtual meetings to get updates and resources (TBD)
  • Attend a specialized workshop, once a year, in your professional field. This would be hosted by CUNY UISP
  • Share information you learned/received with other staff or faculty members through your academic meetings.
  • (If needed) be an IMMI point of contact for student cases related to your office or academic program.
  • (If possible) collaborate with the IMMI office in hosting events tailored for immigrant students.

Student Leaders and Dream Team (student Club)

The Queens College Dream Team is a group of undocumented Queens College students and allies who advocate for the rights of immigrant students at Queens College. We are dedicated to cultivating relationships that educate and empower different immigrant groups within the Queens College community so they may better serve their communities.

The Queens College Dream Team’s goals include providing an inclusive, immigrant & undocu-friendly community space that understands the complex experiences of being an undocumented student at Queens College. We aim to combat the barriers against undocumented students on campus by creating opportunities for personal, academic, and professional advancement for undocumented Queens College students.

Queens College is in the process of re-establishing its Dream Team. If you are interested in being a club member or student leader for the Dream Team, please visit this website

IMMI Volunteers

Queens College IMMI is engaging with interested students who want to dedicate specific hours during the week for limited projects or event participation. These opportunities are unpaid and include collaboration in tabling, photo coverage at events and distributing flyers and materials in campus. In exchange, the office can support in providing volunteer verification forms (if needed). This is a great option for students who need to complete volunteer hours for specific programs.

Interested students can request more information via email at immigrantsupport@qc.cuny. edu.

For external paid opportunities regardless of immigrant status, please visit our virtual board.
