Weekly Hours

New User Access

New users must request Orientation to use the Makerspace.

Orientations are available up to two weeks in advance and must be booked 24 hours prior to start time.

QC Faculty can request a class Orientation, Instruction, or brief “Tour” of the QC Makerspace.

What is the Makerspace?

Inspired by “the maker movement,” our makerspace provides a place to learn new skills as well as a forum for sharing and exchanging ideas with others.

Makerspace Zones

Here are some of the things you can do in the Makerspace

3D Printing

3D Printing

Support for PLA-based Fused Filament Fabrication. For beginners and experts alike – and free of charge.

Plotter

Laser Cutting
Robotic drawing arms capable of turning SVGs and other vectors into highly detailed artworks or signage.

Electronics

Circuitry
Two industry-class workbenches with benchtop equipment and tools for breadboard and through-hole PCB assembly.

Fashion

Sewing
Support for sewing and embroidery using digital-enabled machines for automated stitching.

Tools

Woodshop
Traditional shop facility with hand tools and power tools as well as hardware for assembly.

Design PCs

3D Design
Two high-end 23” touch-enabled Windows PCs powered by all the software used throughout the makerspace.
