Jian Xiao is a practitioner, educator and advocate in data driven strategic financial management across Financial, Government, NFP and SMEs sectors. She was an International Controller at MetLife, ABN AMRO and Merrill Lynch Co where she developed best practices to mitigate risk and grow companies through strategic Transfer Pricing policy, IT Outsourcing optimization, Internal Control improvement, Financial Report Process Automation, and Key Performance Indicators.

At Queens College, Jian is a Lecturer and Chair of Event Planning of the Department of Accounting and Information Systems, Entrepreneur Fellow of Blackstone LaunchPad and a Faculty Advisor for the IMA QC Student Chapter.

Since 2020, Jian has been serving as a member of the Research & Communication Subcommittee of the IMA Small Business Committee. In January 2022, Jian was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce as a member of the New York District Export Council to “Contribute leadership and business experience in support of the Nation’s joint industry/government export expansion effort.”

Jian earned her MBA in Finance & Investment, B.B.A in Accounting Public, CUM Laude from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College. She is a Certified Public Accountant of NYS, Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
