Semester Guidance – Campus Access

​All individuals wishing to access campus must submit proof that they are fully vaccinated (including updates to shots) or have tested negative for COVID-19 within the previous 7 days, in addition to following safety guidelines on distancing and masks. How do I gain access to campus if I am vaccinated?

Students

1. Upload vaccination information on CUNYfirst under “Vaccination Verification” in the main menu.

  • Students registered for in-person or hybrid classes must submit proof of vaccination at least 10 days before visiting campus. All other students should submit proof of vaccination at least 10 days before a planned visit to campus.
  • Student athletes and those living in the residence hall must submit proof immediately in order to participate in sports or to move in.
  • Students who have approved medical exemptions or religious exceptions must follow testing protocols in order to visit campus.

2. Once proof of vaccination is verified via CUNYfirst (may take up to 10 days), you may access campus by presenting:

  • QCard (Read more about obtaining a QCard under Status of Programs and Services) OR
  • If you are waiting for a QCard, you may present a Cleared4Pass at the Main Gate. Cleared4 access passes are sent via email and text to the accounts linked to your CUNYfirst account and/or to those you included when setting up your Cleared4 profile. If you haven’t already done so, claim your CUNY Cleared4 Access Pass now. For help resolving issues with your Cleared4Pass, visit the Cleared4 CUNY Support Desk for troubleshooting or to submit a new support ticket.​ 

3. Enter the Queens College campus at any one of the following locations. All of these entrances are equipped with QCard readers:

  • Main Gate on Kissena Boulevard
  • Gate 2 on Melbourne Avenue (Closed for summer. Reopening Fall 2022).
  • Gate 3 on Reeves Avenue
  • Campus-side entrance of Queens Hall.

Students from other CUNY colleges who wish to visit the Queens College library may make a reservation here: https://qc-cuny.libcal.com/. Do not submit a request for visitor access. ​

Faculty and Staff

1. Upload vaccination information on CUNYfirst under “Vaccination Verification” in the main menu. All full- and part-time faculty, non-teaching instructional staff (which includes NTAs, CLTs and those in the HEO series) and ECPs are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and must upload proof of vaccination into CUNYfirst unless a religious or medical exemption has been approved. At this time, CUNY defines fully vaccinated as the two shots of Moderna or Pfizer, or the single shot of Johnson & Johnson, without boosters. 2. Once proof of vaccination is verified via CUNYfirst (may take up to 10 days), you may access campus by presenting:

  • *Everbridge VaxPass and Proxyclick are no longer accepted for campus access.

​3. Enter the Queens College campus at any one of the following locations. All of these entrances are equipped with QCard readers:

  • Gate 2 on Melbourne Avenue. (Closed for summer. Reopening Fall 2022)
  • Gate 3 on Reeves Avenue, or

How do I gain access to campus if I am unvaccinated/need to be tested?

Students

Important: Negative COVID-19 test results are only accepted if you have an approved exemption from CUNY.

  1. Walk in to get tested at any CUNY testing site. No appointment required. You must be registered in the Cleared4 system first. Check the email connected to your CUNYfirst account for your Cleared4 registration email. If you have not received a registration email, claim your CUNY Cleared4 Access Pass. If you have issues accessing your pass, visit the Cleared4 CUNY Support Desk for troubleshooting or to submit a new support ticket. (Read more about testing requirements.)  
  2. Once you have been tested, it may take 24-48 hours to receive your results. Complete the email and phone information in your Cleared4 profile to avoid delays.
  3. Results will be sent to your email and/or phone via text. Only individuals with negative tests results will be allowed to access the campus.
  4. Present your QCard (QCard is linked to your Cleared4 account) at any of the following locations to enter the QC campus. If you are waiting for your QCard, you can present a Cleared4 Pass at the Main Gate on Kissena Boulevard.
    • Main Gate on Kissena Boulevard
    • Gate 2 on Melbourne Avenue. (Closed for summer. Reopening Fall 2022)
    • Gate 3 on Reeves Avenue, or
    • Campus-side entrance of Queens Hall.
Faculty and Staff

  4. Once your test results have come back and they are negative, you may access campus by presenting a QCard (QCard is linked to your Cleared4 account) at any of the following locationsIf you are waiting for your QCard, you can present a Cleared4 Pass at the Main Gate on Kissena Boulevard.

      • Gate 2 on Melbourne Avenue. (Closed for summer. Reopening Fall 2022)
      • Gate 3 on Reeves Avenue, or
      • Campus-side entrance of Queens Hall.

    RF employees will be notified to visit RFCUNY’s website and log in as an employee using their 6-digit RF-issued employee ID (EMP ID). Under the Electronic Tools tab, select Vaccination/Testing Program and follow the prompts.

    Campus access for visitors

    Visitors

    If you have a valid CUNY Cleared4 Access Pass from another CUNY institution, you may access campus by presenting it alongside a state-issued ID.  

    Single Campus Visit  

    A CUNY Cleared4 Access Pass will not be required for a single campus visit. Upon entering campus, visitors will need to present state-issued ID and proof of vaccination, or a negative COVID-19 PCR test performed by an accredited lab no more than 7 days prior to their visit. 

    Multiple/Ongoing Campus Visits 

    FOR THE VISITOR: 

    1. All visitors must have a QC host. Visitors who will be on campus multiple days or on an ongoing basis must self-register in the CUNY Cleared4 system. This includes uploading: 

    • proof of vaccination OR  
    • a negative PCR test performed by an accredited lab no more than 7 days prior to the visit. The CUNY Cleared 4 Access Passes will expire 7 days after the date of PCR test. You must self-register/upload negative test results in the CUNY Cleared4 system each time the access pass expires. 

    2. Visitors who are approved to visit the campus will receive an email from Cleared4. This email will instruct you to claim an account and retrieve the CUNY Cleared4 Access Pass. Please check your junk/spam folder.  

    3. Visitors may access campus by presenting the CUNY Cleared4 Access Pass and state-issued ID to Public Safety upon entry.

    FOR THE HOST:  

    1. Faculty/staff (host) requesting campus access for visitors on multiple dates or on an ongoing basis should plan as early as possible (at least 10 business days prior to the visit) and provide visitors with the link to the CUNY Cleared4 self-registration 

    2. Once visitors have self-registered, please email a complete list of visitors to the campus access team at ReturnToQC2022@qc.cuny.edu. The campus access team will approve complete and correct submissions and contact the host office to discuss any incomplete self-registrations.
