CUNY Digital Accessibility Initiative (CUNY DAI) has created a Brightspace self-paced course on digital accessibility for CUNY. The course creator, Laura Todd, Technology Trainer (CUNY Central/CIS), is visiting campuses to present on digital accessibility during Fall 2026. Queens College Library (QCL) and the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Leadership (CETLL) are collaborating to host Laura Todd at Queens College on September 28, 2026 to present a talk on digital accessibility to the QC faculty and staff.

Presentation Topic
The talk will be centered around three key questions:
What is digital accessibility?
A high level overview of what digital accessibility means and the changing legal and policy
landscape.
Why does it matter here at CUNY?
A look at how digital accessibility supports equitable access for our students, faculty, and
staff with disabilities (both permanent and situational/temporary) and why it is especially
important now.
What can we do?
Practical ways we can all support digital accessibility best practices, including through the
new self-paced Digital Accessibility course in Brightspace.
