By: Alex Crowley, Adjunct Visual & Performing Arts, Music Librarian

Before streaming, compact discs, or even cassettes, we had vinyl LPs – an analog audio format that offers a unique and rewarding listening experience. The Rorick Music Library holds nearly 5,000 LPs in its collection, but for the unfamiliar, handling vinyl records and using a turntable can be intimidating. In this workshop you will learn some history of record production, receive a tutorial on how to use a turntable, and get to explore the Music Library’s vinyl LP collection.

The morning workshop session will run from 10:30-11:30am. The afternoon workshop session will run from 2:30-3:30pm. The morning and afternoon workshop sessions are identical so select one to attend and RSVP. And in between, during Free Period, 12:15-1:30pm, we will host a less-structured exploration & listening session for anyone who wants to drop by.
