Queens Memory Project
Queens Memory is an ongoing program of Queens College and the Queens Public Library designed to collect stories, images, and other evidence of life in the borough of Queens. Queens Memory staff provide support for public and oral history projects on campus, and help document the history of Queens College through oral history interviews, scanning days, homecoming activities, and more.
For more information, to get involved, or to request instructional support, contact Queens Memory Outreach Coordinator Lori Wallach at lori.wallach@qc.cuny.edu.
SEEK History Project

The SEEK History Project documents the rich history of the Queens College Percy Ellis Sutton SEEK Program. SEEK stands for Search for Education, Elevation, and Knowledge. It is a higher education opportunity program at Queens College. It was established to provide comprehensive academic support to assist capable students who otherwise might not be able to attend college due to their educational and financial circumstances.
The project consists of oral history interviews, archival records processing, and public programming, with a focus on the SEEK uprising of 1968/1969 as well as subsequent joys and challenges experienced by faculty, staff, and students of the program over its 55+ year existence. The physical historical records (Queens College SEEK Records) are open for research, and selected items have been digitized for browsing.
Queer at Queens College
By collecting and making accessible the stories of LGBTQ+ and allied Queens College students, staff, and alumni, this ongoing, multi-faceted project aims to illuminate what it has meant, will mean in the future, and means now in this present moment to be queer at Queens College.
