Maspeth Federal Mutual on campus on 11/15/2023

The CEO of Maspeth Federal Mutual, Thomas Rudzewick, was in campus with his team to conduct a seminar on financial literacy. They explained in detail how to create a budget.

In addition, they talked about internships and job opportunities at Maspeth Federal Mutual.

Created in 1947, the company has grown to $2.2 billion in assets, with robust digital and mobile banking services. They now offer six full-service branches and a loan center that has financed tens of thousands of residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties. 

Mr. Rudzewick is the President and CEO of Maspeth Federal Savings and Loan Association. Mr. Rudzewick has
been President and CEO since 2016. He joined the association as Vice President and CLO in 2000. Mr. Rudzewick serves on the Administrative Committee for the American Bankers Association Mutual Institutions Council. He is the past-chair of the ABA Professional Development Group. Mr. Rudzewick also is active in the New York Bankers Association and the Independent Community Bankers Association. He participates in their Government
Relations Committees and Membership Committees. Mr. Rudzewick is involved in many service organizations throughout the community. He is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Maspeth as well as a board member of the Queens Museum. Mr. Rudzewick holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Iona College and graduated from the American Bankers Association National School of Banking.

SEC on campus on 10/11/2023

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission was on campus on October 11, 2023, so students can learn more about the organization.

Cynthia Chin was the guest speaker. She is a Senior Securities Compliance Examiner in the Investment Adviser / Investment Company Examination program. She is also a Queens College alum.

Cynthia talked also about financial planning, the scholar program, internship and job opportunities at the SEC.
