The Office of Compliance and Diversity (C&D) eliminates barriers to success by ensuring equitable access, services, and resources to eliminate barriers to success; promotes an emotionally intelligent and engaging environment by building community consensus, synergy, and relationships; and considers and appreciates the unique composition, cultures, needs, talents, and abilities of the QC community. C&D oversees four integral areas to ensure compliance, diversity, euqity, and inclusion for all members of the Queens College community. The four areas are: Title IX; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI); Affirmative Action; and Accessibility. C&D specializes in creating and implementing policies, procedures, and practices that align with the college’s values and idels, including fairness and compliance. We provide support and resources for all QC community members to thrive academically, professionally, socially, and personally. We educate and train everyone to fully understand the compliance requirements and overall expectations regarding Title IX, DEI, Affirmative Action, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Chief Diversity Officer / Dean of Diversity

Jerima DeWese is Queens College’s first Chief Diversity Officer / Dean of Diversity. She earned an MA in Urban Affairs and Public Management from QC in 2011 and has more than two decades of higher education experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), student affairs, academic affairs, enrollment management, human resources, diversity and compliance, alumni affairs, and fundraising and development. Most recently, she served as the Chief Diversity and Affirmative Action Officer, Title IX coordinator, and ADA Section 504 compliance officer at Purchase College of the State University of New York (SUNY) where she oversaw the school’s Office of Diversity and Compliance and its Multicultural Center.

Director of Investigations/ Title IX Coordinator

Christine McKeithan is the Director of Investigation/Title IX Coordinator. The Title IX Coordinator will receive and respond to incident reports and matters of concern; document and track all investigative materials; conduct thorough unbiased investigations and provide interim accommodations and measures (academic and personal) regarding all inter/intrapersonal sexual misconduct, assaults, stalking, harassment, domestic violence, and discrimination incidents/matters for the campus community including but not limited to students, staff, faculty, and visitors. The Title IX Coordinator will also identify and address any patterns or systemic challenges revealed by reports, incidents or investigations and provide trainings on CUNY polices to the campus community.
