Assistant Professor of Theatre and Performance Studies

The Queens College Department of Drama, Theatre and Dance seeks a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Theatre and Performance Studies, starting in the fall of 2023. Teaching duties will include undergraduate courses in dramatic literature and introduction to theatre. The successful candidate will also work as a dramaturg with undergraduate students and is expected to develop courses in the candidate’s area of specialization. The candidate is expected to remain actively engaged in research/scholarship, mentor and advise undergraduate students, and serve on departmental and college-wide committees.

Federal Work Study for Students 

The DTD Department has several Federal Work Study (FWS) positions (costumes, props, fashion collection, dance program assistant). FWS provides funding for part time jobs on campus to undergraduate and graduate students who receive financial aid. All financial awards for work study depend on the information you provide in your FASA application.

When completing your FASA indicate you are interested in work study. You may get an email from financial aid stating you received work study, or you can follow these steps to check your status:

  1. Go to CUNYFirst student center “Finances” and choose “View Financial Aid.”

If you have received work study under “Finances” then choose the “Accept/Decline Awards” link.

 

Teaching Artist Fellowship for Students 

The Kupferberg Center for the Arts (KCA) is excited to announce the first Teaching Artist Fellowship program for Queens College School of Arts students in Music, Dance and Visual Arts. This program will provide a unique opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to gain hands-on classroom experience in their development as teaching artists through KCA’s signature arts education initiative, The Mosaic Project. You will be paired with a lead teaching artist.  

The fellowship will take place in Spring 2023 on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoons (approx. 2:30pm – 4:30pm). Classes run for two hours and meet twelve times. There will be one professional development session in January 2023, followed by one meeting with the lead teacher and Program Director before classes begin in early February.
