About Us

Each year, Queens College welcomes 600-650 international students, scholars, and their dependents. The International Students & Scholars Office provides comprehensive support to enrich their experience by assisting in obtaining and maintaining F-1 and J-1 visa and immigration status for studying, teaching, or research.

What We Do

  • Guidance for future and current international students: admissions, I-20/DS-2019 processing, orientation, travel, emloyment paperwork, and more.

  • Support throughout your stay: academic advising, immigration status maintenance, travel signature approvals, employment authorizations (e.g., CPT, OPT, STEM-OPT), tax and social security information.

  • Special programs and community engagement: orientation workshops, cultural and cross-cultural programming, the International Student Community Organization, and regular group meetings for sharing experiences and navigating U.S. life.

  • Resources and timely updates: travel advisories, visa/immigration policies, forms for document requests (e.g., reduced course load, transfer procedures), and virtual & in-person appointments.

Core Values

  • Empowerment – Enabling students and scholars to navigate U.S. academic and immigration systems with confidence.

  • Inclusivity – Fostering a welcoming and culturally responsive community for international members and dependents.

  • Integrity – Providing accurate, up-to-date guidance on immigration compliance, employment, travel and re-entry.

  • Engagement – Encouraging global perspectives in and out of the classroom through participation in campus life and intercultural exchange.
