Student Senate
The Student Senate is the legislative branch of the Student Association. The Student Senate is composed of the same members of the student senators in the Academic Senate. We are a governance body that actively solicits the opinions and concerns of the student body. We serve to consider such bills and resolutions as may concern the general welfare of the Queens College student body and moderate the actions of the Executive Branch.
Advocacy
The Student Senate is here to listen to the concerns of its constituents, the student body. Any student experiencing issues with an academic department, a division of the school, or any urgent concerns with the Queens College community can be brought to the attention of the Senate. Please contact the Chair, Siddharth Malviya, at Smalviya@149.4.100.129
Separation of Powers
The Senate is the legislative branch of the Student Association and serves to moderate the actions of the executive branch. The Senate approves the student government budget on an annual basis, approves any and all appointments to standing or special committee and acts as the check and balances for the Student Association. The Senate is authorized to adopt any rules or bylaws to carry out the aforementioned duties.
