Mission & Goals

The Queens College Undergraduate Committee was created to address challenges and improve outcomes for undergraduate Psychology and Neuroscience students in the department. Through a student-led coalition of undergraduate and graduate students, this committee focuses on enhancing support systems found in the department and on-campus, while providing resources found through professional organizations and other student-led groups.

Our Goals and Focus

Our committee focuses our efforts on four key areas that impact student development. These areas include:

  1. Advising and Mentorship
  2. Community Building and Student Support
  3. Diversity and Inclusion
  4. Research and Graduate Education

We believe improving outcomes in these areas will support students throughout their time as undergraduates and beyond. Our projects and resources thus far have aimed to address these areas. More information about our projects can be found on the projects tab of this webpage.

Our Partners

Our committee works closely with our faculty and through the Academic Planning and Curriculum Committee (APCC). The APCC is the main planning and decision-making body for undergraduate studies in the Department of Psychology. Committee members represent student voices and advocate on behalf of the 2,000+ undergraduate student body in our department. With this partnership, students have continued representation within the department and collaborate closely with faculty and other stakeholders on improving the undergraduate psychology experience.
