Economics: Bachelor of Arts (BA)

Economics is the social science dedicated to understanding how economic systems work—from the national and global levels to firms and individuals. It is central to not only business and financial management but also to law and public policy. Economics students learn economic theory and acquire indispensable professional skills. These include statistical methods, modeling, data analysis, communicative competency, and the use of specialist computer technology.

Graduates in economics are well positioned for many careers: business, finance, government, foreign service, international agencies, health administration, law, journalism, politics, education, even social work and medicine. Many go on to advanced work in graduate or professional school.
