Asian American Community Studies
Through the Asian/American Center and its partnerships with local communities, students may complete an interdisciplinary minor in which they become immersed in metropolitan New York’s culturally diverse and transnational communities. The minor includes coursework in Asian American literature and art, history, politics, economics, and social issues. It also offers fieldwork and service learning culminating in community internships.
The minor is an excellent entrée to careers in such areas as human services, nonprofit organizations, politics and advocacy, law, urban planning, and similar fields emphasizing service to the community.
